- 1 Separate the high-value fractions. Pull server CPUs, RAM sticks and populated boards out of the general pile. That one step routinely moves a load's total by 30–40%, because those fractions get priced properly instead of by bulk weight.
- 2 Do not strip working units for parts. A functioning enterprise switch is worth more whole than dismantled. Let it be tested for remarketing before it becomes scrap.
- 3 Sell the whole load in one transaction. Splitting the profitable items across buyers and leaving the low-grade remainder makes the remainder expensive to move, and the second buyer prices accordingly.
- 4 Handle the data properly and separately. Wiping drives yourself before sale is fine, but without a Certificate of Destruction you keep the legal exposure. Price the destruction as its own line, never as a discount on the scrap.

Do you charge for collection and pickup?
